Lazy Blogger

Wow!  It has been a week since I last blogged.  Amazing how time flies by.  I have been busy and will be back soon with more layouts.  I have just finished one and will be attempting another soon.

Will be another busy day for me as this is D Day where Clarissa will be acting in her school play.  I will try and blog the photos after we get back tonight.  I am excited and hope that she does well. As they say in showbiz - break a leg babe...

Layout - My Brave Boy

This layout is based on a sketch challenge by Mojoholder.  Here is the link.

I remember that as a young girl - I used to be terrified by snakes.  The reason being that I was nearly bitten by a cobra.  Now that I have kids,  I do try very hard not to impart my fear of snakes to the kids.  I braced myself and everytime when we go to the zoo,  I make sure that they try to carry or even pet the snake.  Slowly,  I discovered that my fear of snake is gone too. They are just very dry and nice to pet.  Of course - I wouldn't go near a venomous snake for that matter but non-venomous ones - no problem and I am glad my kids love them too.

We were at the zoo 2 years ago and the kids had a go at wrapping the snakes around their necks.  It was a nice outing and we all had fun.

Materials used:

Layout - Dudes

Took these photos last summer when we were in England of Sean and his best pal Callum.  I have to say that this photo only serves to HIGHLIGHT the similiarity between the two.  Check it out on the photo - same eyes,  same sticking out ears,  same cheeky grin - I have to say the same expression.  The only difference is that Sean wears glasses now.  Hee hee...

I have used another sketch from Pagemaps to do this page but I adapted it by adding a lot of circular elements in the layout.

I have asked Sean to journal the layout and this is what he wrote:

Sean says:

"Callum is friendly.  Callum is helpful.  I hope he will be my loyal friend forever."

Well - that certainly sums it up.  Sean is looking forward to Callum's visit in the summer and I am sure that they will have a great time.

Materials used:

BG Lime Rickey pp.  Prima Dude pp,  Glitz Rubon,  Pink Paisley Rubon,  Heidi Swapp Sticker,  Thickers chipboard alphas,  Dymo Journalling,  Zig Pen,  Versachalk Black ink and 3d pop up dots.

Layout - You are so Vain

Digging into my photo stash,  I have found yet another cute photo of Clarissa taken when she was 7. My friend Simone took this very "VAIN" photo of Clarissa and did some photo shop magic on it. My first reaction when I saw this was - "Gosh what a vain pot!"

Was browsing through the internet when I found this sketch.  Love how this sketch has incorporated circles - one my my favourite elements in a layout.  For those who are interested to give this a go,  do head over to Sweetie's sketch here.

Now that I have found this photo again,  I might as well scrap it before it disappears again.  Hee hee.  Played with my old Websters Page this time and I am so glad that I have tried to scrap these pages and used them up.

Materials used:
Websters Pages pp,  Burlap from Australia,  Lace trim,  Prima flowers,  Thickers foam alphas, Distress Inks - scattered Straw and Brushed Corduroy, Zig pen and 3d pop up dots.

Layout - Girlfriends

Wati told me that she was trying out a sketch last night.  When she uploaded it,  Iloved it and I have decided to follow the Jones.  Lo and behold,  purely coincidentally,  Jessy did the same sketch too.  We all took the sketch from this site called Twisted Sketches. Here is my take and I must say that I did derive some satisfaction out of fashioning my ribbons into a flower...

Materials used:

Anna Griffin pp,  K n Co pp,  Jenny Bowlin pp,  Corrugated Cardboard,  Lace Doiley,  Ribbons from Momoyo,  Prima Say it with Crystals,  Autumn Leaves Buttons,  Thickers Alphas and lace trim from local haberdashery.
