Beary Bear Sketch {Outdoor fun}

I have decided to  play along with the latest Beary Box Sketch.  Do check it out here.

A simple layout today.  We were at Skytrex at Shah Alam last saturday. I decided to celebrate Sean's birthday early there and we had so much fun on the obstacle race and the flying fox.  Yup - I went on too- to my horror.  But it was fun...

Here's a picture of Sean flying through the air!  Thanks Eric for capturing this very cool photo.

Materials used:
SSF pp,  Kaiser rubons,  Prima felt tree branch,  Maya Road Chipboard arrows,  Scrapworks diecut pp with words "Outdoor Fun", My Mind's Eye boy rubons,  Pink Paisley leaf sticker and alphas and Momoyo brown,  Brilliance ink and gold flower stickers.

Star Wars Lego

Sean's birthday present this year was this Lego. I was worried that he was too young to build something as sophisticated as this but he managed to do it!  I am so happy!  Check this out...

Yes,  those blue thingies on top are missiles which actually fire.  Sean uses the missiles to attack Iz.  Poor Iz...

Top opens up to revel cabin inside.

Too cool...

I love the all the little pieces but Janine - imagine if one piece is missing.  One can expect major frustration and tears.

A Pub Toot for Wati

Everytime I see one of my scrapping friend's layout published in a magazine, I get really excited and happy. Just went to Papier just now and bought this magazine and found that Wati's layout has been published there! A very nice surprise indeed and I am so happy for her. Congrats my dear.

SK Weekend of Challenges 24-26th April 2009

It has been a hectic weekend. Took Sean and his pals to Skytrex for his birthday. What is Skytrex? Check it out here.  I must admit I am very very afraid of heights.  Jessy and her hubby Eric came with me - bless her little soul - encouraged me to try out the obstacle course.  I plucked up whatever remaining courage I had and I did!  Its sore arms and legs after  it all but it was worth it! Willupload the photos when I receive them - Jessy - hint hint!  LOL...

For challenges of a different kind,  the designers of Scrappin Kids including yours truly will be running a whole weekend of challenges next weekend from the 24th till the 26th April,  2009.  Do join us here. Lots of Raks and all to be won!  Hope you will come join us in the fun!

Dome Fun...

We were at Dome this morning and we were given this questionnaire about Dome.  Why do we love Dome?

Sean answered:

I love Dome because it is so good I love the food so much and it has a frenzy felling.

Quite a funny reply.

Legs in the Air {Izzie's lo} oops - should be Paws in the air

I have been walking around like a zombie due to the jet lag.  My friend Kay says that I am weak.  ok ok,  I have decided that I shouldn't be weak anymore and try to actually restore some normalcy in my life.  Sleeping 5 hours a day and running around does make me look somewhat "panda-ish".  I have decided to scrap last night and even though it was noather simple layout - it was somwhat satisfying and I slept till 7.48 this morning!  Yaaayy - nearly 8 hours sleep.

Talking about sleep - check out Izzie's sleeping position. Izzie loves to sleep with her legs up in the air. This dog actually thinks that she is human! Ooops - that makes 2 of us.  I should have said - Paws in the Air!  Hee hee...

Materials used:
Pink Paislee pp and chipboard embellishments,  Thickers foam alphas,  Zig Singature photo pen and lots of 3d foam.

OLD PAPER Giveaway

Hi ladies,

Over the years I have accumulated a lot of papers and some even dating back to 1994.  I am going to do a giveaway but I have been hesitant as the papers are all so old.  If you wish to receive 12 sheets of old scrapping paper, do leave me a message here and I will select the receivers at random.

Jessy's sketch

Another sketch challenge by Jessy - so I am thinking - maybe its time for us to run sketch challenges at Scrapping Inspirations.  I could sponsor the RAK every month. Hmmm - need to talk to Jessy about it.  Sorry - I was just thinking out loud and didn't realise that I typed it out.  But if you are reading this and you are interested - do leave a comment so that we can judge whether its viable with to start running this in Malaysia.

My Sketch challenge this time by Jessy

My simple interpretation of the sketch.  I apologise for the picture quality but its been raining cats and dogs here.  No light.  Snapped this picture of Clarissa when we were in Perth.  She was so happy on the swing and it shows.

My journalling reads:

Its one of life's simple pleasures - sitting on a swing.  As you were swinging to and fro - you were laughing and smiling.  You seemed so happy.  As you grow older and problems arise,  I want you to remember all these carefree times.  Perhaps when there seems to be no way out,  just sit yourself on a swing and swing all your troubles away.  It's a simple thing - happiness.  Remember this - be happy.  February 2009

Materials used:
Sassa Fras Lass pp,  Coredinations cs,  Prima flowers,  Bling and pearls from local shops,  Thickers foam alphas,  White Zig pen,  Distress Inks - brushed corduroy and pop up dots.

The definition of love

We were on our way to dinner when Clarissa was trying to convince Sean to be more adventurous with his food.

Clarissa :  You should try Indian food. I love the bread and butter chicken.

Sean:  Love?  You mean you kiss it?

All of us :  FLABBERGASTED

Sigh- Sean sean - when are you expanding your food choices?  We are quite sick of chicken rice and soup...

Izzie - Our Furkid

Izzie went to the groomers today.  I am positive that she hates the groomers as much as she hates the car ride there.  She normally likes to rest on one of the kids for comfort.  If not,  she will be shaking terribly from the fear.  She is sleeping on Sean for comfort after we picked her up from the groomers.

She didn't seem to be in a good mood.  Who would be?  After all that plucking - ouch!  She sulked all the way home.

What?  Still  taking more pics?  Do you know what I have been through?  All that plucking,  trimming and cutting?

Gosh - you won't stop?

I am warning you.  Stop pointing that thing in my face...

I am getting mad now.

Ok - will start ignoring you now.

Leave me ALONE!!!

Hee hee - Isn't she too cute?

Eiffel Tower

C took this picture as I was a afraidy cat.  Me very scared of heights.

Faint - you won't catch me at the edge.

Smiling in spite of the 2 hour wait.

What a sight to behold...

More photos - Paris Edition

Yummy Crepes

Cool kitchen!

A very slanted Eiffel Tower taken from the Arc by Clarissa. Nope,  I wasn't up there,  knee was still hurting and hence I skipped the extra 4 more flights of stairs up.

Sean using the binoculars.

Posing pretty before the Arc.

Star Album - Que Sera Sera

I was so inspired by the SK april challenge using 10 cards that I made another album titled "Que Sera Sera."  I loved the photos that we took of the kids at the Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong way back in 2006.  Yes,  I know - I am very behind in scrapping everything.  The problem is I am never systematic and I am one who likes to scrap whichever photo I draw inspiration from.

I played with the old "Happy Family" cards and it suited those photos as the theme of these cards were professions.  Hence I came up with this album.  Hope you like it.

The album cover.

Love how the star album opens up.

Introductory journalling.

Who knows - she could be a writer like Shakespeare or he could be iconic like Ghandhi.

Gulp! Imagine finding Sean behind bars? But being as knowledgeable and adventurous like Indiana Jones would be too cool!

Who doesn't wish for kids as smart as Einstein? Or as handsome and suave like James Bond? I wish! Yeah right, in my dreams....

Hmmm,,  as famous as Marilyn Monroe?  Or a great golfer like Tiger Woods?

Marry into Royalty?  Now thats a scary thought - the repercussions etc...

At the end of the day,  as long as they are happy in whatever they are going to be - everything should be ok.

Materials used:
Handmade Star album,  Cork pp,  Jilly Bean pp,  Happy Family cards,  Acid free cs,  SSF die cut stickers (thanks Aida),  Dymo journalling,  Momoyo buttons,  Grosgrain ribbon and beads.
