More cards for charity

Love the paisley here.

Another simple one.

Scraps to make the last one.

Played with some FFC pp too! Hee hee - batik - nice huh?

Simple simple.

Its been a lazy sunday today and I have just finished making 25 more cards for charity. Why the sudden rush to make more cards? Traditionally all the charity bazaars start mid October till November. This is the only time when a lot of charity homes get to sell their products and hopefully raise some money for their homes. I will try to upload the dates and location of the charity bazaars so that those who are interested may go and support these charity homes. Please do as in the present economic climate, a lot of are experiencing some financial difficulties.

Today I have used more scraps from her and I am glad to report I have gone through only a fraction of what she gave me. Hopefully I can go through more as time goes by. Thanks Sharon.

Far Flung Kraft pps Layout - Simply Charming

I had the pleasure of meeting Kristy and her DT Sharon this week. I "hijacked" these 2 pieces of pp from Kristy and I love the colours that I had to work with. The layout is "title-less" as I have yet to find red coloured alphas. Will add them on when I find them but I know that the title should be "Simply Charming." Why? To me - I think the whole layout looks like a mirror and reflects Clarissa's face. Thanks Kristy for providing the pp for me to play with.

MOre cards for a friend

Kristy told me about a friend who needed some cards and with some stash n scrap that I have gotten from Sharon, here are some simple cards. There will be more coming soon... Thanks Sharon for your lovely scraps.

Charity Cards - Set no 2

Another set of Xmas cards which I have made for the Children's Home. A special shoutout to Momoyo who donated the Christmassy brads.

Charity Cards - Set no 1

These are some cards which I made when I was sick. I couldn't find the mojo to scrap and hence I dug out some of my old pps and I started making some cards. These cards will be donated to a Children's home which caters for Autistic and brain damaged kids. I hope that they will in turn raise more funds for the home.

Start of school

These are some blurry pics I took of the kids at their first day of school. I blame the lousy photos on having to get up early and that I was still very sleepy. Hee hee...

Check out the awful blue toes. She loves them - I dread them. Welcome to the dreaded teenage years. Sigh... She is only 11 folks... A long way more to go.

All happy to start school again.

Munchkin no 2 - putting on his shoes.

Another week goes by and another award

Wow! Time does fly past so fast and its another week without blogging. What have I been up to? Mostly - still recuperating and thank God - my throat swab came back as a negative for H1N1 but I am still suffering from pharyngitis. The current unhealthy air level due the haze doesn't help at all. That is why I am still sick.

I went for my walk today just simply because I was so fed up of being sick. I did feel more energetic but it also worsened my throat. Lesson learned - I need exercise but not in this haze. Oh - how I miss my walks and these 4 weeks of antibiotics and medicines have made me put on so much weight. Sigh.

On happier news, the kids have started their new school and have settled in quickly and enjoying school. I have been on a scrapping rut yet again but I am pleased that I managed to make more simple cards for charity. This time - they will go to a Children Home which is run by my friend's mom. Will take pictures of them tomorrow morning and upload them.

Another happy news is that my fellow DT at Scrap-it-Lah, Mazlina has awarded me with this honest award. Thanks Maz!

Here are the things that one has to fulfill after receiving this award:

1) Thank the person who gave it to you.
2) List 10 honest things about yourself.
3) Pass the award on to 7 people.

Ok 10 honest things about myself:

1) I hate tardy people who are not punctual and perpectually late.
2) I love my walks in the morning. There is something about the cool air and the greenery which soothes me.
3) I love pop music.
4) I can't scrap when I am not in the mood and when I do have the scrapping mood - its all steam ahead.
5) I have very low tolerance for anyone who is super fussy.
6) I love to eat things that are soupy.
7) I love to NAG my kids - yes - that includes my hubby too.
8) I love fast cars and I love to drive FAST - really FAST.
9) I used to love to bite my nails. I have now stopped that habit. (But alas, my daughter picked up this awful habit).
10) I enjoy my weekly massages very much. Won't miss them for the world.

There you go - I have added 10 more different facts about me.

I would love to pass this award to:

1) Nad
7) Issa

Phew - that was hard finding another 7 friends to tag. I am glad that this is all done. I have started to cough again so I better go and call it a night. Have a great weekend everyone.

Scrap-it-Lah August Challenge

We have another unique challenge lined up for you at the Scrap-It-Lah this month. We kick off the Guest Designer series this month and we have invited Irene Tan aka Scrapperlicious as our Guest Designer and she has come up with a cool challenge for us. For more information, go do head off to the Scrap-it-Lah blog.

Irene's challenge was to include some sewing in the layout.  I have done that with my flourishes.
I have also tried out a tutorial that I saw online making flowers from punched scalloped paper. I must say that I love these flowers that I have here now.

This is a very old photo of Clarissa when she was 2.  As you can see - barely had hair and loved to strut her stuff and wear boots.  Sigh... Such memories....

Materials used:
Coredinations pp,  Far East pp,  Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade,  Ribbons and trims from local haberdashery,  Technique Tuesday chipboard frames,  Embossing Pad,  UTEE Embossing Powder,  DMC Embriodery thread,  MM Sticker alphas,  Heidi Swapp Sticker,  Thickers foam alphas,  plastic leaves from my Scarlet Lime kit and 3d foam dots.
